Qualified help for you

  1. An eye pad is usually worn for twenty-four hours following the surgery to absorb moisture and to reduce glare.
  2. A protective eye shield is worn at night on the operated eye for about a week.
  3. You will need to put eye drops in your eye for approximately 3 weeks.
  4. Some mild discomfort is unavoidable. Pain or other symptoms that cause anxiety should be Reported Promptly.
  5. It is quite safe to read or watch television.
  6. Light is not harmful, but glare should be controlled in the interest of comfort, sunglasses often assist.
  7. You may take a bath, shower or wash your hair, avoid soap near your eye. Pressure on the eye should be avoided.
  8. All activities are permitted in moderation, but strenuous exertion is to be restricted for approximately two (2) weeks.
  9. Your glasses will need to be re-tested about 3 weeks after the operation. You may require glasses to improve your vision in the distance and for near, but as a general rule the implant power has been chosen to provide you with the best distance vision without glasses. There are however individual variations.
  10. Visual judgement may be initially unreliable. Driving should not be resumed until your confidence has fully recovered
  11. The nature of your employment will, to some extent, determine when you will be fit to resume work.
